Training services expanded – technical training in the USA performs INA branded webinar
To reach even more garage professionals, our Aftermarket colleagues in the USA are conducting knowledge transfer as part of the digitalization process in a new way. In July 2017, our first series of technical training webinars was launched in Valley City. The third installment was performed on July 18th, 2018 and covered INA branded products.
Roger Gillette conducted the latest webinar for mechanics, instructors and vocational students in collaboration with Babcox Media, the most recognized publisher in the US Aftermarket. Roger is the Group Leader of Technical Service of the Aftermarket business division in the USA and Canada. Roger joined Schaeffler in January 2018, after a long career as an ASE technician and successful store leader in retail chains and independent repair shops. He not only provides targeted product expertise in his seminar, he brings over 16 years of experience in the automotive aftermarket industry, working directly with our audience.
The INA webinar covered the function and diagnosis of the Overrunning Alternator Pulley (OAP) and Thermal Management Module (TMM). Throughout the webinar, 139 mechanics, teachers, and service professionals from the United States, Canada, and Mexico participated. Participants were excited with the level of detail presented within both systems. A survey of participants showed that 84% felt the content was informative, 98% indicated the webinar itself was relevant to their jobs, and 96% responded they would participate in a future webinar offered by Schaeffler.
The webinar covered the operation and failure of the OAP, including the review of a diagram of the internal workings. Participants left with knowledge of how the systems are beneficial to the changing market of automotive emissions standards. With the TMM we covered the theory and operation as well as diagnostic tips. The participants were surprised to hear how efficient the TMM works in reaching and maintaining optimal operating temperature. American motor vehicle experts can find a host of technical service information about our products and repair solutions at the USA-specific REPXPERT online portal as well.
On October 17th, 2018 we invite you to our fourth installment, focusing on FAG wheel bearings, covering construction, design and function of the seals, encoder as well as orbital forming.
