Installation with Spacer and Dustshield

When installing a fixed idler pulley, be certain to clean the mating surface and torque the bolt to vehicle manufacturer specifications.

WARNING

For safety, always disconnect battery and wear appropriate safety equipment before performing any work under the hood.

Look for OE belt routing diagram located under hood or on front support panel. If unavailable, make simple sketch to aid reinstallation prior to belt removal.

1. Remove old pulley, pulley dust shield and bolt from engine. Discard.

2. Obtain new pulley, new dust shield and new bolt from package. Note: Do not use old dust shield or bolt with new pulley.

3. Install and torque bolt to recommended torque (M8 = 16 – 24ft.lbs, M10 = 40 – 48ft.lbs, M12 = 60-70 ft.lbs).

SAFETY REMINDER: REMOVE ALL TOOLS FROM THE ENGINE AFTER THE INSTALLATION IS COMPLETED.
