INA Overrunning Alternator Pulley (OAP)
Smooth belt-drive operation protects components
Product description:
Engine crankshaft rotation is not uniform. The up and down motion of the pistons creates constant changes in crankshaft acceleration. This causes rotational irregularities which are transmitted to the FEAD subjecting the components to higher loads. An overrunning alternator pulley (OAP) or an overrunning alternator decoupler (OAD) improves operation by decoupling the alternator from these rotational irregularities. OAPs and OADs transmit the drive force in one direction, providing smoother accessory drive operation.
If the OAP is defective, the belt begins to vibrate causing noise and vibration. A new INA OAP will solve this problem quickly.
We recommend replacing the belt tensioner and the V belt when replacing the OAP, so that everything works together perfectly again.
Benefits:
- Reduces belt vibrations
- Reduces noise
- Reduces tensioner force
- Increases service life of tensioners and belts
- Uses patented technology
